100 DAYS IN OFFICE
The 100 Days in Office Campaign was introduced by the newly elected NEC of the South African Funeral Practitioners Association (SAFPA) under the leadership of president Dr. Nomfundo Mcoyi-Zondo as a way to mark the beginning of their leadership journey. This initiative reflects the NEC’s commitment to accountability, visibility, and meaningful engagement with members during their first 100 days in office.
The campaign began shortly after the elections, with the NEC undertaking their first official duty abroad. In July, a delegation comprising the newly elected President, Secretary General, and selected SAFPA members travelled to the United States to attend the global funeral industry conference hosted by the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association (NFDMA). This international engagement allowed SAFPA leadership to connect with global peers, exchange knowledge, and bring back valuable insights to strengthen the association locally.

As part of the campaign, the NEC also embarked on SAFPA provincial branches visits across South Africa. These visits are designed to foster closer relationships with SAFPA members, to listen and respond to the unique needs and challenges of each province, and to reinforce the NEC’s commitment to unity, growth, and transformation within the funeral industry.
The 100 Days in Office campaign is more than a symbolic milestone — it is a demonstration of SAFPA’s dedication to building a stronger, member-driven association from the very start of the new leadership’s term.

From 19 to 20 August 2025, SAFPA’s National Executive Committee, led by President Dr. Nomfundo Mcoyi-Zondo, embarked on a provincial visit to the Eastern Cape as part of the 100 Days in Office campaign. Over the two days, the NEC engaged directly with members to better understand their challenges, listen to their feedback, and strengthen collaboration with provincial structures.
The Eastern Cape visit further highlighted SAFPA’s dedication to ensuring that every province has a strong voice in shaping the future of the association. By working closely with members, the NEC reinforced its vision of building a united and progressive funeral industry across South Africa.

On 12 August 2025, SAFPA President Dr. Nomfundo Mcoyi-Zondo and the National Executive Committee (NEC) continued their 100 Days in Office campaign with a two-day provincial visit in Gauteng. The visit created a valuable platform for the NEC to connect directly with SAFPA members, engage on key issues, and reaffirm the leadership’s commitment to strengthening the association.
The programme concluded on 13 August 2025, where members shared their insights, feedback, and aspirations for the future of SAFPA. These engagements reinforced the NEC’s mission to drive unity, progress, and meaningful change within the industry.

On 15 July 2025, SAFPA President Dr. Nomfundo Mcoyi-Zondo and the newly elected National Executive Committee (NEC) officially launched their 100 Days in Office commitment with the first provincial visit in Cape Town, Western Cape. This important engagement allowed the leadership to connect directly with SAFPA members, listen to their perspectives, and strengthen the association’s presence on the ground.
The visit continued on 16 July 2025, marking the second and final day of the NEC’s programme in the province. During these sessions, the NEC engaged meaningfully with Western Cape members, reinforcing a shared commitment to unity, progress, and the sustainable growth of SAFPA across all provinces.

As part of the 100 Days in Office campaign, the newly elected SAFPA leadership proudly represented South Africa on the global stage at the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association (NFDMA) Conference in the United States. The delegation, led by newly elected President Dr. Nomfundo Mcoyi-Zondo, together with Secretary General Mr. Monageng Legae and other SAFPA members, spent about a week in the US attending the annual national conference held from 5–9 July.
This international engagement provided an opportunity to connect with global industry leaders, exchange knowledge, and explore innovative practices that can strengthen and transform the South African funeral industry. The visit underscored SAFPA’s commitment to learning, collaboration, and positioning the association as an influential voice within the global funeral fraternity.
